A Blog of Personal Thoughts
An Oops!
August 2024
I wrote a blog for 1 August. My usual writing path goes as follows: write on my computer, edit on the computer, print, edit the printed copy, enter the edits. In some cases, repeat the last two steps multiple times. Something happened this time and somehow, I lost what I had written. Maybe it’s somewhere, but it’s not in the iCloud, documents, the file where I saved it, or any other logical place. I looked for an hour and decided that was enough time.
I bought an Apple computer for writing in 1982. I brought it home and set it up. I then let son Seth, age 11 and niece, Abi age 16, use it for a week. In my next step, I had them teach me how to use it. Of course, I’ve updated my computers to my present MacBook Air, plus an iPhone and an iPad. In those 42 years since my first computer, I’ve never lost a document. Forty-two years of not losing any document is great, but…
I know this has never happened to anyone else. I lost my Personal Thoughts blog for August. I’ve had a slow summer this year with more writing and more visitors than usual. How on earth did this happen?!
See you 1 September for my Personal Thoughts blog, written in my thoughts now, but no time to redo it today. I send along some pictures. See you on 15 August for a fun Flashbacks I’ll share with you.
